The Student Volunteer Program was first held back in the year 2012 and are still continued until now. The Program is a collaboration program between Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana (UKSW), Indonesia, and Kwansei Gakuin University (KGU), Japan, held twice a year.

Normally up to three (3), KGU Students in one batch will do volunteering activities (i.e. teaching Japanese language and culture) in UKSW owned schools (Satya Wacana Elementary School and also Satya Wacana High School). The KGU students will be exposed to Indonesian culture, Indonesian habits, Indonesian Language (including Survival Indonesian Language Class at the beginning of the Program) and will be able to share Japanese culture and Japanese language with the students.

There will be a pre-departure orientation in KGU and also arrival orientation in UKSW before the start of their Student Volunteer Program. The UKSW Student Buddies will also play an important role in introducing Salatiga, UKSW, and all its facilities as well as all the School Facilities that will be used by the KGU Students.
