As an international student you have a number of choices of our international programs. We offer short visit programs, international class, student exchange programs, East Asia Student Encounter and the intensive Course of Indonesian Language and Culture known as PIBBI.
These international programs are designed in ways which enable international and local students to interact, exchange ideas and work together. International Programs at SWCU are meant to enhance internationalization of the students, faculty, staff and general public of Satya Wacana community. The major strategic plan is to develop programs to bring in more international students to the campus. The idea behind this strategy was the fact that not all students, faculty and staff could have the opportunity to go abroad. So opportunity to have Interactions with international community must be created within the home campus. To meet these needs a number of international programs have been designed. The most recent programs are the short visit programs, International Class and the student exchange programs. Of course we still keep the two most prestigious programs East Asia Student Encounter and the intensive Course of Indonesian Language and Culture known as PIBBI.
We also encourage visiting scholars from partner institutions abroad. Normally the university would provide accommodation for visiting scholars while they guest-lecture or do research at our university. Senior professors undertaking sabbatical leave are welcome to our university.
On the other hand our professors also often get a grant from the Directorate of Higher Education, The Indonesian Ministry of Education or other sponsors to have their postdoctoral study or other academic recharging programs at universities abroad. Such opportunities are highly appreciated.
Internationalization programs are also done with partner universities abroad. Among others we have collaborative research and community services with Charles Darwin University, Australia, Faculty Training in The Sun Shine Coast University (sponsored by ALAF), joint seminars, short visits, joint publications and other collaborative programs. Looking towards the second 50 years of SWCU, programs on research and internationalization of the higher institution will be given rise.
